COUGAR MOUNTAIN SOFTWARE CELEBRATES 25th ANNIVERSARY!
April 20, 2007 BOISE, IDAHO - How many software companies do you know have been in business longer than 25 years?
While other software companies have come and gone, outsourced their services, or shipped production overseas, Cougar Mountain has remained a leading developer of accounting, point-of-sale, and nonprofit accounting software for 25 years. We're a small company entirely based in Boise, Idaho, but for the last quarter century we've served hundreds of small- to mid-sized businesses throughout Idaho and thousands across the country.
In 1982 Bob Gossett, CEO and founder, established Cougar Mountain Software to meet the demands of growing businesses that require solid accounting practices. Suddenly accountants were no longer confined to the spreadsheet. He felt it was important to develop a business that acts as an ally to customers and business partners by providing them with the insight and information needed to help their businesses operate more efficiently.
Cougar Mountain's first products operated on a DOS system and were so straightforward many customers continue to use them today. But as computers became Windows based a software lineup designed around Windows' 16-bit platform was created--one that we continue to develop and support. But we never rest easy. And the future is now more 'bandwidth and speed.' So we're currently developing a new product series called Denali to have all the functionality of our 16-bit products but with the increased speed and memory that comes with operating on a 32-bit platform.
But we're not all about software development. Cougar Mountain prides itself on the service and support we offer our customers. From first contact we do our best to make sure the software is the right fit for their business. And once someone purchases our products we do everything we can to help them with the installation (we have a staff that travels across the U.S. providing on-site installation), training (we offer classes at our Boise headquarters or on-site), and are available if problems arise (our phone-support staff is on location as well).
For 25 years we've prided ourselves on our service and product integrity. We will continue to make our customers and business partners our first priority, and remain a leading producer of accounting and point of sale products for many years to come.
